Description: This ride was introduced to us a few years ago by fellow bike rider Bob Smart, and it has quickly become one of the favorite mountain bike rides for our group. It starts about 3.3 miles past Sly Park (or Jenkinson Lake) on Iron Mountain Road (also know as Mormon Emigrant Trail). Start at the Information Station which is on the right hand side at the bottom of the hill. Parking is free at this location, and starting here gets you past the busy traffic around the lake. Traffic on this ride is generally light, though do be careful on the descent on Bonetti Road (Road 51). You will definitely have the urge to go fast (it's a wonderful downhill), but there are several blind corners that bear caution to avoid any surprises with oncoming traffic.

0.0	Start at the Information Station about 3.3 miles southeast on Iron Mountain Rd from Sly Park. Start ride by heading east (away from Sly Park) on Iron Mountain Rd. Road is paved here.
2.1	Pass Gate with E20 marking on it. Continue straight on Iron Mountain Rd.
2.5	Turn Right on Snow Mill Rd. This is not a major intersection, but is the first road (no gate) on right side past the E20 Gate (mentioned above). Road is broken pavement and dirt at first, then becomes mostly dirt road.
2.9	Intersection with dirt road. Stay to Right on Snow Mill Rd.
10.0	Reach North South Rd. Road is paved here. Turn Right and cross bridge.
10.4	Turn Right on Cosumnes Mine Rd. Broken pavement and dirt road.
14.4	Turn Right on Bonetti Rd (also known as Road 51). Start major descent.
17.9	End of descent, cross bridge and start final climb back to Iron Mountain Rd.
20.1	Reach Iron Mountain Rd. Parking lot is about 100 feet to left.
